What's the plot?

Based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic novel, action fantasy ‘John Carter’ tells the out-of-this-world tale of war-weary John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), a Confederate captain in the American Civil War who finds himself mysteriously transported to Mars.

Discovering the 12-foot inhabitants of this lush planet are locked in a violent conflict together, he uses his experiences on earth to try and bring peace to the planet and its people.

Disney’s ‘John Carter’ is the latest film from Academy Award®–winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton.

Really good film! Ignore critics comparing to them to other films saying it's a copy of avatar, completely wrong! Watch it! Worth the money completely!:)

We actually went to see this film to kill some time on a rainy day and it was the only relatively age appropriate thing on for our son.

Glad to say we actually enjoyed the film. Hadn't heard much about the film prior to seeing it, but if you just eat your food, drink your juice and turn off the brain, it's quite an enjoyable movie. The only problem for us was, as our son is dyslexic, he couldn't read the subtitled bits at the beginning. Didn't detract from his enjoyment of the movie as a whole though.
